Day 5 - Heading Home

All good things must come to an end.  We had to say good bye to beautiful San Diego and fun and memorable family time and head back to the desert.

The drive home was uneventful and smooth.  I guess you couldn't ask for more than that.  We stopped for lunch in Yuma at the Cracker Barrel.  Never again.  So so food (Ethan's hamburger was practically raw, but being color blind he didn't notice until Stan looked at it and he had finished most of it) and my lunch (just a salad) came about 10 minutes after everyone else's.

We didn't blow a tire.  Stan pointed out where we once did blow a tire on our trailer, which blew through the whole floor and caused us to have an extended stay in Yuma.  And made it home in about 2 hours less that it takes when he do pull a trailer.

It's good to be home, but we were welcomed with record 110 degree heat.  Let the summer begin!

Before I end this part of our blog, I am going to copy an idea from my friend Kamisha, where the family lists their favorites from the trip:

Stan...Watching the big military planes fly over while we were on the beach

Chris...Beach day on Coronado

Ethan... "I don't know" (imagine this said in teenage voice)

Nikki...Sea World (see her post from Day 3)
